An 8.4-metre aluminium hybrid deck cruiser
The AluShip E-Bakdekker 840 is the largest of the builder's Bakdekker deck cruisers and is badged hybrid rather than electric — a combustion engine remains in the boat, so the silence and the access to protected water that an electric hull buys are not part of what this one offers.
The numbers
8.4 m long, 2.87 m in the beam, 1250 kg, drawing 0.65 m with an air draught of 1.30 m. Certified for 12 people, CE design category C. Drive is offered across an 8 to 18 kW band and settled in the configurator, so battery capacity, speed and range are not published as figures and are left out rather than estimated. The builder
AluShip cuts and welds its own aluminium hulls in Steenwijk, the Netherlands. The fully electric boat in the same range is the E-Bakdekker 720.
